Better Scratchpad
The current implementation is kind of slow on my iTouch.

Native support for a scratchpad is still planned, but the memory leaks and some slowdowns have been fixed in the current scratchpad. Please see the support page for more info.

Add card edit features such as cloze and change model
I am following the new trend of 'clozed cards' and it's a little disappointing that on the iPhone client (which I payed 15 pounds for) can't even edit card models or apply different colors to words.
I'm trying to upgrade old cards (I have around 7000 cards so far that I have entered myself) and it would be awesome to be able to do all this from my iPhone which is the client I use more nowadays.
Thank you!

Better editing on device
Quite often I'd like to quickly edit the card on the device, mostly to make something bold/italic or other color.
Currently, there is no easy way to do so on the device (there is a possibility to edit, but without ability to quickly bold and change color without style/css stuff).

slideshow mode
It would be more useful if there is a slide show mode where cards automatically appear in turn. It could be used for learning in driving a car, or riding a bicycle by listening to the sound played automatically.

Import Kotoba favorites list from clipboard
Kotoba is a popular Japanese-English dictionary for the iPhone/iPod touch. After viewing an entry you can star it to add it to a favorites list. It can also export favorites to the clipboard as a CSV. It would be great if AnkiMobile could import this list from the clipboard and merge the cards into a pre-existing deck or a new deck.

Buttons to add tag(s)
for the tools menu and/or quickbar.
I often add missing tags while reviewing and since I have lots of fields on my cards, scrolling down to the tags field is a hastle and entering tags via the onscreen keyboard is cumbersome (no auto complete like on the desktop). So I't like to have a button to do this. Could be a button for specified tags, but could also be a dropdown-list with all available tags (that allows to add several tags at once!).

Handwritten flashcards
This is not the same as the Scratchpad feature. This is the ability to make flashcards just by drawing (with finger or stylus).
This is useful for having equations inline with text. I know there is LaTeX, but it can be too slow (see next paragraph).
Something like this is currently possible by drawing in other apps and importing through photos, but my experience tells me once you lower such transaction costs, you'll find yourself making more content that way.

Localization
Language translations of all the menus and instructions for non-native English speakers would be very helpful. Even if it's just the options menu, I think it'd help these users a lot, and maybe open up new customers.

Extend search feature: tags, suspended etc.
Currently the search feature is only looking for text in the data fields, search for e.g. tags or meta-data like "is:suspended" is not possible.
Best case: Implement the full search filter functionality as in the desktop client.

Own Voice Recording For Pronunciation
It would be nice if AnkiMobile could get this feature - other Applications try to get more buyers just because of that feature!
It would be nice if it works like the "Record Voice Plug-In" in the Desktop Client (after recording you can play it again until you record something new)I do believe an option to record your own voice would greatly improve the pronunciation skills as you can directly compare them to a native speaker (if you have a sound file...).

Being able to see all the cards in the deck at once
I really like how on the desktop version and on ankiweb, you can view all the cards in your deck at once while browsing. It helps to see if I have already added select information

The main problem with this in previous versions was speed. As the next version will avoid the old toolkit and the underlying database structure is faster, displaying all cards for a deck should be a more reasonable proposition.

Option for delay-free Two-Finger Swipe
Add option to Two-Finger swipe for quicker swipe actions. I often have to swipe multiple times because the swipe delay is so long. Add two finger swiping option will have the advantage of being filtered out of possible single tap mistakes. The disadvantage is that it requires two handed use, but I am already a two-handed ankimobile user.

Native Two-Step Answer Support
I really like the idea of allowing two-step answers (hints), but it would be great if the plugin was enabled natively and supported on all interfaces. For instance, when doing Subs2srs decks, it would be great to allow me (or anyone) the opportunity to first hear the audio or see the audio clip (test verbal comprehension), then provided the reading, and finally the answer.

Add an Option for Reminding/Notifying
This would include things like a badge on the icon that says the number of total cards that need to be reviewed for today or actual notifications to the user reminding them of this. I personally don't keep track of the next time I need to review some cards, and after a while, when I come back to Anki I have a whole pile of cards I have to go through! I think features like these would get people to use Anki at a more regular basis.

The main problem with this is it would mean sending or receiving your entire deck each time – no merging, no sending only the changed parts, etc.

anki:// URLs
Allow Anki to accept URLs like (for example) anki://Japanese/Sentences/add?sentence=テスト&translation=Test. This will let you launch Anki from other applications with the add card dialog open, with the right deck and model selected, as well as some fields already filled in.
http://DECKNAME/MODELNAME/add?field1=value1&field2=value2
"/add" should be there for forward compatibility. Maybe /newcard. I don't care too much there. :)
This will be useful for me personally for launching from apps like i文庫S, Mobile Safari, etc. in order to mine sentences.

More action buttons on iPad
There is much space left for some more action buttons on the large iPad screen. Those could just be hidden on iPhone (maning Anki would remain a universal app).
